On a psychological level, we want to be “real” and to have others see and love us just as we are.
These desires are usually fiercely guarded by the terror of being judged, rejected, unloved, abandoned, and so forth. So instead of moving toward what we want (authentic self-expression and contact with others), we hide by subtle and overt methods: we push away potential connection, we withdraw, we pretend to be what we are not. All of these unconscious coping mechanisms leave us feeling empty, isolated, unhappy, anxious, and resentful. They also lead us to accept what I call “counterfeit intimacy” instead of the profound love that is our birthright.
On a spiritual level, we long to experience our holy nature, and to revel in this Divinity-as-human-being dance.
We crave the deep satisfaction that comes from recognizing the Divine in everyone and everything. Yet we seem to have forgotten – or keep forgetting – the key that opens the door to this true recognition.
My work blends and meets these two desires.
What I do best is to facilitate and support your inner journey home to yourself so you can live and love from that place. I do this through compassionate presence, an absolute trust in your unfolding process, and an array of skillful practices to awaken us to our true nature.
Utilizing Your Greatest Resource: The Now
Planning for a better life is just that: a plan. True change and transformation happens only in the present moment. “The power of now” is not just the title of a wildly popular book. It is a statement of fact: Now is the only time and place in which you actually have the power to transform your beliefs, your patterns, your relationships, and your life.
In working together, we utilize the present to its fullest extent. Through simple yet profoundly effective processes, I help you see and dissolve the beliefs and patterns that are keeping you stuck and frustrated.
By developing your capacity to embrace the present moment during the therapy session, it becomes more and more available to you in your daily living. You find yourself being able to make new, healthier choices. You feel more confident, whole, and peaceful. Your relationship problems begin to diminish and you find that you are more available to give and receive love.
